WELCOME TO THE SHEVIOCK PARISH COUNCIL WEBSITE
22/04/2020. Polite note to visitors, if planning to visit the Parish and Portwrinkle beach:
Although Cornwall relies heavily on Tourism, our Parish has an ageing population, so we ask that you help us protect them, by not visiting during this time. Unfortunately the traffic gridlock -as seen at points this week – can prevent essential services from accessing our most vulnerable residents, as well as increase the risk of accidents and stress to all involved.
Portwrinkle Public Toilets remain closed for staff and Public safety. We hope to reopen the toilets – once deemed safe to do so for staff, visitors and locals- as we appreciate the fundamental need for them. But unfortunately it is not safe at present, primarily due to the older type of facilities within, as well as risk to staff and others.
Accessing Finnygook beach involves the use of a narrow paths making it difficult to maintain your social distancing with others.
The Play Park remains closed
Crafthole Community Shop is run by volunteers, many of whom are now having to self isolate. It is opening at reduced hours, primarily to provide a service to those whose movements are more restricted to the parish, especially as there is less public transport. That is not to say it will not serve people from outside the parish but there is a strict policy of 2 people in the shop at any one time. So please respect this.
Thank you for your consideration and understanding. We hope that this helps you to plan ahead and Stay Safe and if possible postpone your visit for a little while longer.
Should any of the above change we will update it here on the website.
This website is primarily to provide information to the parishioners of Sheviock. However, we hope it will also provide useful information for visitors to the parish and for surfers of the web.
